I forgot that I made this little flash movie using Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean”. So this is my mini-tribute to him. I had been planning on making a series of Michael Jackson dolls for a long time but I might let him Rest in Peace for a while before I get on to that. Thanks Michael.
The Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has a CupcoDoll version of himself. During my last show CUPCO: CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE / SOFT ANIMATORS I placed my doll version of myself at the centre of the CUPCO UNIVERSE a long with my wife Mayumi and PM Kevin Rudd (see photo below) in honour of the fact that the show was being held in the nation’s capital Canberra. For non-Australians Canberra is where Australia’s parliament House is situated and the occassional home and stomping grounds for Australia’s federal politicians. After the show the curator , Jas Hugonnet, sent this message:
cupco Kevin now resides with the real one in the lodge. Annie Doyle bought the work for her friend MP Duncan Kerr who presented it to KR last night at a do in front of about 40 Labour pollies.Aparently he was rapt with the work
From this moment the quest to get a photo Of Kevin with Cupco Kevin begins!!
Kevin’s Kevin was originally made after a set of 5 Kevin’s were made and sold out at the Melbourne Art Fair 2008 .

Now that I’ve finished the CUPCO-CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE show I can get back to more important things like sending out free stickers. I actually really enjoy doing this and lots of people say its a cool surprise when they get them in the mail. Also doing the sketches on the backs of the envelopes is fun. Here’s a testimonial:
